telepresence at its best: KUBI, a robotic Ipad stand for video calls.

Before the video, I wasn’t very exited about the project. Kubi looked like a bicornuate to me. But I soon realized It was one of the object I’ll save money for, thinking about it everyday. I’m like that.

So KUBI is a robotic Ipad stand you can control from the other side of the world, a bit like the Romo, but the it is for Iphone only and can move around. But KUBI isn’t a toy: It’s a tool first designed for pros, not for amusement, that’s why the design is more sober than the romo.

The romo is controlled by the app, wich works like this:

the only downside to this app, but it is not their fault, is that the two caller need the app. You can also call with facetime, but you won’t be able to make the KUBI move by tapping the screen, but through a web browser, on another tablet or computer.

The KUbi is for the moment on indiegogo, waiting for your to back it. You can get it for 200$.

the rinser, an almost magical toothbrush

got the idea ? it’s kind of simple when you think of it: it’s like when you put a spoon under the flowing water, except that in the rinser, the coming back water is canalized through the little hole when you push the button, so that the water doesn’t flow the all house;

The head are also interchangeable, which is a great thing for it starts a t 22$, a lot more expensive than other toothbrush, even though it provides a unique feature. It even won the red dot innovation award ! I think i’m gonna ask father Christmas for a toothbrush this year 🙂

The most beautiful lamp, the lumio.

I deeply felt in love with this lamp. I want one in my bedroom, one in my kitchen,one in the living room, one in my toilets if I could afford it. Why do I want one so much ? what makes this lamp so unlike any other ? here is the official video showing you how  it works and in what situations it might be interesting:

Isn’t it great ?

So I asked myself what I would do with such a lamp, and it’s highly probable I’m going to get one. I would definitely put it above my desk, and maybe in the kitchen. I won’t bring it everywhere with me, but it might be useful while going on a trip, and what’s more it doesn’t take that much space.

As the light seems bright in many images, I found that the designer thought about every aspect of this product, and built a light dimmer spine on the side. On top of that, there ain’t no switch button, you just open it and bam, it just works (like someone said). It can also extend to the full 360°, making it more versatile than any other lamp. You can put it in 90° corners, on walls, on opposite corners (270°).lumio 3

you can even put it in a circle, like this:

What’s not to like ? Did I mentioned it had magnets in the cover, tu put it on any metal surfaces ? It’s a little sad it doesn’t work with normal walls, but nobody’s perfect. The battery lasts 8h on full charge, and you can get it for 95$ right now on kickstarter.

Good night lamp, an internet connected lamp

you may ask yourself what use  this  product is. Let’s put it this way: when you switch off a lamp, other lamps connected to the same network switch off. You now know your little girl is going to sleep, and when your mate comes back from work to prepare dinner. The design is real sleek, in the form of a house:

I just love it. Don’t you ? The big one and the small one are included in a package for 89£, on kickstarter.
